The Financial Aid Office supports the recruitment, retention, and student success efforts of the University’s diverse undergraduate and graduate student population by helping students and their influencers seek, obtain, and make the best use of all financial resources.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Aid, Financial Aid Analyst supports the processing and reconciliation of scholarship funds; helps to resolve issues with scholarship awards and disbursement; posts scholarship opportunities to the Financial Aid website; and creates communications to promote scholarship applications and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience working in a financial aid office and using student information systems; and the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment and communicate effectively across a diverse population.

Responsibilities include:

Post outside scholarship awards to student accounts and disburse funds
Repackage financial aid awards to address scholarship over-awards as needed
Update scholarship manager software with new applications and opportunities for students
Assist reconciling awards in the student information system

Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the practices and procedures of computer data control
Knowledge of methods and techniques of data batching, computer input preparation, and computer output review
Ability to read and interpret input forms, keypunch cards, and computer printouts
Ability to maintain accurate log and control records
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications

Experience collecting and managing data
Experience creating and maintaining complex reports in Microsoft Excel
Experience working in a financial aid office or with scholarship funds
Demonstrated experience working in student information systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, and Ellucian

Confirm eligibility for renewable scholarships
Aid in the creation of annual fund reports including W.W. Smith and Charlotte Newcombe
Assist with budget reconciliation
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification:

Minimum Qualifications One year as a Data Analyst 1 OR Three years of progressively responsible experience in the review, analysis, and control of computer processed data. Appropriate post high school education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
