The Government Relations Committee (GRC) of PASFAA advocates for students, financial aid offices, and schools at both the state and federal levels. The committee monitors federal and state legislative, political, and regulatory matters that pertain to college access and affordability. Educating members on any changes to these matters is a crucial task of the GRC. Advocacy work is another major component of the GRC’s work. Members of the committee work at both the state and federal level to advocate on behalf of students, families, and financial aid administrators.

The Government Relations Committee also partners with other organizations in shaping our positions and agenda: PSCA, PACAC, the PA State Grant Programs, and more. We do not see our work, or the work of our partner organizations, as the only work do be done in this field though. For that reason, we strongly encourage students, families, and other members of the public to be advocates for themselves and to contact their legislators.
