Assistant Director of Financial Aid
The position supports the delivery and accountability of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid funds for UPG’s under graduate students. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid provides leadership and management of financial aid programs to ensure high quality service, well-managed programs, excellent communications, and compliance for all financial aid programs. This position will serve as the initial point of contact for students and families over the phone, when visiting the Financial Aid Office, and when providing responses to student inquiries via the financial aid email account. Related duties include helping to facilitate and support student-centered initiatives, provide counseling and/or guidance to students/families, and the University community. Employee will interact with staff from various levels within or outside the University. The position will actively serve students and their families through financial aid related services ranging from educating prospective students about the financial aid process, awarding various aid programs, and educating students about the importance of good financial management.
University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg
Master’s Degree in higher education administration, student services, or related field required. Minimum two years’ work experience in student financial aid office with progressively responsible experience within a University setting. Significant experience administering financial aid programs showing evidence of comprehensive knowledge ensuring programs are effectively administered at all points of the awarding process. Documented experience giving effective financial aid presentations as well as working with business process improvement through methods such as fit/gap analyses. Employee must be able to demonstrate funds, fiscal, and data management experience and have a strong organizational, analytical, planning, and communication skills. Experience working in a complex university or college environment, preferably some supervisory experience at a large college or university. Ability to work with a sense of urgency compatible with departmental and university demands and effectively manage stress of staff and oneself while working in a fast-paced environment with high expectations. Ability to develop, implement and oversee internal training procedures and train staff members. Demonstrate experience organizing and prioritizing large volumes of detailed work, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
