Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA, a leader among the nation’s independent, two year colleges, has an immediate opening for a Financial Aid Counselor. This position is responsible for providing assistance and guidance to prospective and current students in the completion of the application process for financial aid. In addition, they will provide assistance in understanding the types of financial aid offered and additional steps needed to secure aid.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with applicants to gather information necessary for completion of Financial Aid packaging.
Provide an overview of Financial Aid programs available to qualifying students.
Determine financial aid eligibility and develop financing plans and review them with students.
Provide student follow-up; resolve issues with students and parents to ensure a timely receipt of aid.
Harcum College
Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in a financial aid office preferred Prior experience with needs analysis, verification, packaging and the PA State Grant program Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential Must be self-driven and have a willingness to learn Detail oriented Must possess excellent customer service skills and able to work with a non-traditional and diverse student population. Some evening and local travel may be required
