Pennsylvania’s very own Megan McClean Coval, NASFAA’s Vice President of Policy and Federal Relations, will take us “Inside the Beltway” where we will learn about recent legislative and regulatory activity and a preview of what schools can expect in the months ahead.  Includes updates related to COVID, reauthorization, recent legislative changes (e.g. FAFSA simplification), budget and Department of ED.

David Bartlett, Training Officer, Department of Education  will join us “live online” for the Federal Update. He will describe the most recently approved guidance from the U.S. Department of Education and the office of Federal Student Aid. Statutory and regulatory updates will be provided as well as operational updates and reminders.

 

The Coordinator for NASFAA’s State Advocacy Network will be joining us. Topics she will be sharing include trends that the Network and NASFAA are noticing as well as helpful websites to research State activity like the Education Commission of the States.

        • Tell us what financial aid topics are on your mind? What are you most concerned about? What do you want to learn more about at spring training? Not everyone feels comfortable presenting, but this is a way everyone can play a critical role!  
        • Volunteer to share your experience and knowledge with your colleagues as a presenter!
        • Put together a panel with several of your colleagues to share best practices or policies centered on key topics or issues for your office, students.
