Assistant Director of Financial Assistance for Graduate, Part-Time, Online & Undergraduate Students
The Assistant Director of Financial Assistance will service undergraduate, graduate, part-time undergraduate and online students seeking counseling on financing options to attend Villanova University. This position will assist with the administration and packaging of financial assistance for students enrolled in full-time undergraduate, graduate, BSN-Express, and part-time studies undergraduate and all online programs. This position will serve as the primary back-up for the Associate Director.
This position will also be responsible to provide counseling services to a portion of current and prospective undergraduate students (approximately 10-15%) and their parents as well as graduate students and will participate in the process of file review, verification, and awarding of federal, state and institutional financial assistance to these students (excluding law and prospective transfer students).

Counsel graduate students, part-time undergraduate students, and all online students on financing options for attending Villanova University.
Participate in the process of file review, verification, and awarding of financial assistance to undergraduate students, (excluding law and prospective transfer students). Provide counseling services to prospective and current students and parents through scheduled as well as walk-in appointments.
Review, verify, and award (package) prospective and current graduate and part-time studies undergraduate aid applicants in accordance with federal and state regulations and institutional standards. Research and resolve outstanding issues related to comment codes presented on student FAFSAs.
Responsible for handling the management of the Graduate Scholarships and working closely with the Colleges awarding the Scholarships. Maintain documentation for the scholarships.
Respond to VU internal department liaisons and third-party online provider inquiries about students’ financial aid status.
Assist with the Return of Title IV aid process.
Assist with creating training resources such as FAQ documents and PowerPoint presentations on graduate, part-time, and online student programs for both students and staff. Review publications, mailings, printed materials, and website on a quarterly basis as it pertains to graduate students, part-time students, and online students .
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and Director.
Villanova University
Bachelor’s degree required. 3 years’ experience in a financial aid office in an automated environment, working directly with students and parents. Experience in counseling, review and verification required. Experience in the administration of assistance to undergraduate and graduate students, with specific experience in Federal Direct Loan program administration, as well as private educational financing. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are essential. Time management Attention to detail Experience with all aspects of: Federal Title IV aid administration and regulations PHEAA remote access system and state grant program administration and regulations Banner/Ellucian experience preferred Private/Alternative Loan programs Federal Student Aid Systems: NSLDS, COD, CPS Microsoft Office Suite NOLIJ, Discoverer Experience with College Board IDOC, PROFILE
