Job Description:

The Schreyer Honors College at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Enrollment Services Specialist (Financial Aid Counselor) to provide consultative services to prospective and current students and their families, determine financial aid eligibility, and evaluate applications. The Financial Aid Counselor will oversee and manage undergraduate scholarships and the awarding of grants for all Scholars in the Honors College. The selected candidate will work with multiple units and departments within the Schreyer Honors College and across campus to provide support to students. This position will report to the Senior Director of Development and Alumni Relations in the Schreyer Honors College.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Oversee undergraduate student scholarships and the awarding of grants in eSteward
Chair the Schreyer Honors College Scholarship Committee
Interact with students experiencing challenges and provide empathetic, emotional, educational, and cultural support
Determine the type and amount of financial aid to be awarded in accordance with established federal, state, and University standards and guidelines
Participate in the coordination of admissions and orientation programming for prospective and first-, second-, and third-year Scholars for:
Scholars Day
Accepted Student Programs (ASPs)
Schreyer Honors College Orientation (SHO TIME)
Penn State New Student Orientation (NSO)
Penn State Change of Campus (2+2 Program)
Participate in recruitment events and activities for the Schreyer Honors College
Compile and create reports of student aid awarding and statistics
Provide in-take services, respond to direct requests from individual applicants, parents, and counselors via phone and email
Assist in developing communication strategies for students regarding scholarship and student aid
Act as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, Penn State campuses, and University constituents
Collaborate with the Penn State Office of Student Aid, and other offices and programs across the University on awarding, trainings

SALARY BAND:

G (STFF)-$30,012 – $61,500
