Financial Planning Coordinator

Central Penn College is in search of a Financial Planning Coordinator to accurately, effectively and promptly respond to needs of prospective online/evening students and their families regarding financial matters in an organized, helpful and friendly manner. The Financial Planning Coordinator works with the Admissions Counselors to assist with issues directly related to financial aid.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Serve prospective students and their families through all stages of the financial planning process, including counseling students on financial options available to finance their education and guiding them through the planning process.
Develop financial aid plans consistent with policies and procedures and in compliance with Federal/State regulations.
Answer any questions relating to financial aid, costs and payments of those costs.
Provide counseling about the types and sources of financial aid programs, the application process, and the availability of financial aid.
Assist students and parents with the completion of all financial aid forms. Provide any necessary assistance whether in person or via telephone/email communication.
Conduct in-person interviews.
Maintain the appropriate hard copy records on all prospects.
Assist with the implementation of New Student Orientations.
Conduct off-campus financial aid interviews at selected schools that may require some travel. Provide support to our Lancaster center which may require periodic visits to that location.
Assist Admissions Director with scholarship opportunities for prospective students.

Qualification:

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in associated field. • 2-5 years of experience in Financial Aid/Higher Education is preferred. Applicants with a background in finance, banking, and loan counseling are encouraged to apply. • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office programs. • Ability to interact well and maintain strong, professional relationships with students, faculty, staff and the community. • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact with a diverse population. • Must have willingness to work some evening hours in conjunction with contacting prospective students who may also be working professionals. • Ability to use sound judgment and independence in determining priorities and handling situations.
