Job Description:

Shippensburg University is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director of Federal & Alternative Loans.

Administer and oversee all aspects of educational loan programs.  This includes Direct Lending (DL), Federal Perkins loan and Alternative loans.
Independently coordinate all loan processing, including interfacing with Banner, COD, NSLDS, ELM One, CIS Scripts and Cognos reporting, the coordination of entrance and exit interviews, and maintenance of automated loan processing, disbursement of loan funds, independent audit of output processes, development and maintenance of procedures for loan processing and staff training.

Oversee aid reconciliation and EFT reporting requirements.  This includes DL, Perkins and alternative loan reconciliation/multiple applications. Serve as liaison to Student Accounts Office for all loan programs.

Responsible for identification and appropriate action regarding federal over award and over-need situations.  Oversee receipt, disbursement and transmittal of returned loan funds and coordinate changes with Student Accounts Office.

Serve as primary back up for the Associate Director/Federal Verification & Grants Coordinator related to advanced processes.

Qualification:

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree and progressive experience working in Financial Aid. In addition, strong technical skills, including the ability to extract and organize information, as well as strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently are required. Successful performance in an on-campus interview is required. A Master’s Degree, background in Alternative Loan processing, as well as experience working with Banner and ELM One systems are preferred qualifications. Hands on experience with Federal Loans, which may have included loan changes, fund reconciliation, COD processing and NSLDS reporting is preferred. Supervisory experience is also preferred.
