Job Summary
The Assistant Director for Financial Aid works with the Director and Associate Director of Financial Aid to develop and execute financial aid strategic priorities, strategic planning and financial literacy deployment that translates to the successful enrollment of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students at the institution. This position is required to conduct business in a professional manner and will be required to have a working knowledge of federal regulations as they apply to the disbursement of all federal and state funding.. The employee will work with students, parents, and staff across the college to process student financial aid applications and explain financial aid policies and processes. Responsible for general financial aid duties, including but not limited to, counseling students through the financial aid application process, determining eligibility in accordance with State and Federal regulations and electronic processing functions and other customer service duties. In addition, this position will serve as the liaison for our Abigail Geisinger Scholar Program overseeing and tracking students throughout their medical school journey in the program. This position reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid.

Job Duties
Works with the Director and Associate Director of Financial Aid in the development of initiatives for the efficient delivery of financial aid from all sources that align with the institution’s strategic plan.
Creates and deploys undergraduate, graduate, and medical financial literacy programs.
Tracks students enrolled in the Abigail Geisinger scholar program for stipends, disclosure notifications and reporting purposes.
Manages ISIR imports, data import and exports through the SIS system and troubleshoots discrepancies as needed
Evaluates and assists in making decisions regarding high level, complex policies and procedures as they relate to professional judgement, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), verification and the awarding of discretionary aid
Interpret, apply and comply with federal, state and institutional regulations governing student financial aid; maintaining up to date knowledge of guidelines/regulations related to financial aid
Participate in the development, evaluation and implementation of institutional policies and procedures regarding financial aid.
Provide comprehensive counseling and outstanding customer service to all constituencies regarding student financial aid management (Title IV, state and institutional programs), eligibility guidelines, policies, procedures.
Counsel students and parents regarding all aspects of student financial aid services operations, methods, and policies and procedures to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financing of student information.
Serves on financial aid scholarship and appeals committees.
Participate in all training programs.
Assist with projects as needed and perform all other duties in the Office of Financial Aid as assigned.
