Job Description:

Albright College is seeking applications for a Financial Aid Counselor. The Financial Aid Counselor will provide extensive financial aid counseling to students and families, as well as provide administrative support in the processing of financial aid. This role will be responsible for the collection of verification documentation and review of all aid files for packaging. In this position, the counselor will supervise student workers and serve as a back up support to the Office Manager. Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing equity and inclusion within the team and across a culturally diverse campus while celebrating people of all statuses and identities.

Essential Job Functions:

1.Manages Federal verification document tracking and outreach

2.Compilation of prospective freshmen award letters, email notifications and monitors their physical mailing

3.Responds to the email inquiries addressed to the office

4.Counsels prospective and current students and their families

5.Manages the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Student Loan monthly reconciliations

6.Manages Student Workers

7.Manages the updates to office webpage

8.Manages outside private scholarship programs

9.Produces Fall and Spring Financial Aid newsletters

10.Responsible for federal exit loan counseling processes

11.Manage file upkeep – new files, graduates, withdrawals

12.Creates and presents effective PowerPoint presentations to on and off campus audiences

13.Provides back up support to the front desk role

14.Other tasks as defined by Directors of Financial Aid

1.COMMUNICATION a.Must possess strong organizational and communication skills b.Must be able to communicate effectively, both in person and verbally c.Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner 2.SKILLS a.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. b.Ability to interpret and respond to on and off-campus constituents with tact and diplomacy. c.Ability to execute instructions accurately and in a timely manner. d.Displays organizational and prioritization skills in daily/weekly/monthly duties. e.Ensures exceptional follow-up and follow-through on necessary tasks. f.Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. g.Dedication to work in a team-oriented environment. h.Utilize Microsoft Office products to enhance office efficiency. i.Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive and equitable Albright community, as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement. 3.EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE a.One to two years of related experience in a college or university financial aid office preferred 4.EDUCATION a.Bachelor’s degree required.
