Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Student Financial Services , the Associate Director is responsible for over site and providing support in day to day operations of the office. The Associate Director serves as the second in charge and manages the office in the director’s absence and coordinates the awarding of all federal, state and university funding to prospective students while providing professional assistance to students by advising and assisting than with financial planning and continuing to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and procedures.

Qualification:

•Bachelor Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred •Three to five years of progressive financial aid experience •Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations as well as experience in awarding and processing institutional aid •Must provide exceptional customer service, specifically related to the mission of the university •A minimum of 2 years of staff supervisory experience •Experience with PowerFAIDS, PowerCampus, Slate, NSLDS, COD, EdConnect preferred •Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills across varied audiences such as students, parents, staff, alumni, and the community •Ability to manage multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines, working as part of a team as well as independently with little supervision •Ability to diffuse difficult or emotional situations with students and/or parents •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Access •Commitment to the mission statement, core values and goals of Alvernia University
