Assistant Director of Financial Aid
As a member of the Financial Aid leadership team, this position reports to the Director of Financial Aid Programs & Engagement. The position supports the delivery and accountability for more than $525,000,000 of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid funds to over 33,000 undergraduate and graduate students.The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing our student loan programs and client services. In this role, the incumbent provides leadership and management of loan programs and client services to ensure well-managed programs, excellent communications, high-quality service, and compliance for all financial aid programs. Client Services responsibilities include, but are not limited to the management of the staff phone schedule, programming schedule, and monitoring of the Financial Aid Wellness Center. It is essential to effectively manage the stress of staff and oneself while working in a fast-paced environment with high expectations. As a member of the financial aid leadership team, the Assistant Director will serve as needed, where needed to support business needs that arise from time to time. This is a hands-on supervisory position. There will be occasions when attendance at off-site events requires travel and overnight stays. Occasional extended work hours (evenings and/or weekends) will be required to support the needs of the operation.
University of Pittsburgh
3-5 years of financial aid experience with evidence of successfully supervising staff, managing one or more financial aid programs, participating in a team environment, giving public presentations, and being actively involved in growing professionally. Bachelor’s Degree is required, but a Master’s Degree in higher education administration, student personnel, or related field is preferred.
