Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Financial Aid systems analyst will be part of a team responsible for administering the Banner Financial Aid area of the student information system (SIS). This position understands and responds to current needs, diagnoses, and resolves problems relating to the Banner systems that supports the Financial Aid office. The analyst works closely as a liaison with the functional areas but reports to the IT department.
Essential Functions:
Serves as the subject matter expert for Financial Aid Student Information Systems (Banner) managing complex and detailed setup and configurations.
Acts as liaison between IT and functional areas to translate requirements from financial aid department into technical solutions for the Student Information System (Banner).
Troubleshoots and solves system problems as they arise.
Primarily responsible for providing assistance to the Financial Aid office, as it relates to the student information system and other software products utilized in the delivery of federal, state, and institutional Financial Aid.
Ensure system functionality, including testing of system upgrades to aid in the administration and successful delivery of student Financial Aid.
Maintain current knowledge of federal Title IV regulations, state rules, and institutional policies pertaining to financial aid
Understand financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and various financial aid programs
Work with colleagues to develop online and technology-based processes to replace existing paper/manual processes.
Evaluate and recommend new software and upgrades/releases of existing technologies pertaining to Financial Aid.

Minimum Requirements: Two to four years working with Financial Aid student information systems, processes, and procedures Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in defining eliciting business requirements and testing; basic knowledge in defining and documenting business processes; an understanding of current general information technology concepts, theories, trends and systems Strong verbal communication skills as demonstrated during interview process. Critical thinking skills, ability to analyze issues and needs with incredible attention to detail. Possess excellent organizational and technical skills to diagnose problems in an environment with constantly changing priorities. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff. Proven adaptability and flexibility with an emphasis on thinking through varying approaches to solve complex problems by examining different angles to produce recommendations and solutions. Preferred Requirements: Banner experience highly preferred Bachelor's degree strongly preferred Technical and/or analytical experience. Systems integration knowledge is desired.
