DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID

Gannon University, a Catholic, Diocesan, Master’s I University located in Erie, Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Director of Financial Aid.   Founded in 1925, Gannon University is an independent institution with 70 undergraduate programs, 27 master’s programs, 6 doctoral programs, 7 complete distance education (online courses).  Gannon currently has 4,444 students.  Additionally there is a campus located in Ruskin, Florida, offering graduate degrees in health professions.

The successful candidate will report to the VP of Enrollment Services and is responsible for the leadership and management of all financial aid operations. The Director provides leadership in the implementation of all financial aid policies, programs, and services, coordinates awards and processes disbursements along with compliance of all federal, state and institutional programs including Veterans Affairs. As a member of the Enrollment Services team, the Director plays a key role in the planning and execution of programs designed to assist students and to enhance the enrollment of the institution.

Qualifications include a minimum of five years’ related experience and a demonstrated record of responsible and successful leadership in financial aid, comprehensive knowledge of federal and state aid programs, processes and regulations; demonstrated knowledge of computer technology and federal electronic programs.   Experience with Ellucian/Colleague is highly preferred.  Also necessary is a commitment to enhancing community awareness of financial aid and supporting the interaction of financial aid and the enrollment process; a commitment to actively support and contribute to the student-focused and value-centered characteristics of the University, its mission, and its Catholic identity; excellent written and oral communication skills; an administrative style that emphasizes collaboration with faculty, staff and students; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.  A Bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree preferred.
