Job Description:

Elizabethtown College is currently seeking a Financial Aid Assistant for the Financial Aid Department. The primary purpose of this position is to bridge the gap between the counseling staff and the support staff. This position will support the efforts of the office to assist in the recruitment and retention of students by providing efficient administrative expertise, exhibiting strong interpersonal skills in relating to students, parents, and staff, and possessing a solid capacity for data processing and analysis.

Job Duties
▪Explain financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations to enrolled and prospective students
▪Assist students and their families in an efficient and courteous manner
▪Assist with college events such as Workshops, Open Houses, Accepted Student Days and Orientations
▪Assist with the student aid verification process and clear/follow up files with C-Codes
▪Assist managing the processing of the Federal Work Study and or Federal Perkins Loan programs
▪As necessary, administer State and/or Federal aid programs
▪Manage the creation of financial aid documents for all current and prospective students
▪Prepare and generate materials for mailing of all original and revised Financial Aid Notifications
▪Assist with communication to select populations
▪QA financial aid records/files
▪Assist with creating and generating reports
▪Update PowerFAIDS system (using an interface with Jenzabar software) with admissions data for all prospective students
▪Update the Net Partner module (Student Aid Portal)
▪Ensure accuracy of data in PowerFAIDS system
▪Perform student aid batch processes
▪Load ISIR transactions, loan records, etc. from federal processor (COD)
▪Manage the technical in-office aspects of all third-party software programs
▪Troubleshoot system technical issues and be point of contact with IT department
▪Support the Senior Director of Financial Aid and Counseling staff by providing timely and accurate financial aid information on a regular basis
▪Keep abreast of Title IV regulations, along with state and institutional policies and procedures
▪Serve as back up to counselor position when necessary
▪Maintain coverage of the office
▪Serve as the primary backup to the Administrative Assistant in answering incoming phone calls
▪Serve as the primary backup to the Administrative Assistant in serving “walk-ins” to the office
▪Share the workload with the Administrative Assistant in responding to and distributing email inquiries

Qualification:

An Associate’s degree is required; plus two years of administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors degree, previous financial aid experience and bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
