Senior Associate Director of Operations and Systems
Responsible for the systems and processes utilized within the Office of Financial Aid, including testing of new releases/patches and the annual set up of the Financial Aid module of the Banner information system, as well as troubleshooting problems and tracking resolutions. Uses data to help the Enrollment Division make informed decisions about strategic planning. Responsible for supervising and training staff. Acts as liaison with LIS for troubleshooting problems with other internal (Golden SQL) and external (IDOC) systems used in the Office of Financial Aid. Works with Admissions regarding Slate interfaces and start-up for each cycle. Ability to occasionally work from home.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize critical thinking skills to be a strategic thought partner for the Enrollment Division. Effectively uses data to make informed decisions regarding enrollment and financial aid strategies, processes, procedures, etc. This will include active participation in various meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversees the CRM Financial Aid module including, but not limited to, configuration, testing, and implementation of the system for each new financial aid year including writing and maintaining budgets; tracking and packaging rules; thorough testing of new patches and regulatory releases several times per year including analyzing and implementing new functionality; develop and document procedures to automate processes and train staff; and maintain student access. The current system is Banner but plan to implement new CRM in the next 5 years.
- Supervise operations team within the Office of Financial Aid. This includes up to three direct reports. Provide ongoing staff training, mentoring, and development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and biweekly meetings with each staff member.
- Develop and implement accurate and timely financial aid offer letter generation for all students, including first-year, transfer, continuing, and other applicable groups.
- Utilize ad hoc query tools such as Golden to construct complex SQL queries to provide Admissions, AIR, and other campus offices with information and reports necessary for completion of their duties and objectives. Work with FAOs, EAB, Othot, and internal teams to provide data for modeling optimization. Assist the Director of Financial Aid in gathering data needed to comply with federal regulations and institutional goals, such as annual SFA audit, FISAP, annual loan debt letters, and AIR data vetting.
- Create report/database modification/project request specifications for submission to LIS for development.

Required: Vocational or technical certificate / degree Preferred: Associate’s Degree – Computer Science Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology or related field may substitute some of the Education Requirements.
