Financial Aid Counselor
Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA, a leader among independent, two year colleges, has an immediate opening for a Financial Aid Counselor. This position is responsible for providing assistance and guidelines to prospective and current students in the completion process of the application for financial aid.
ABOUT HARCUM COLLEGE
Harcum College is an independent, coeducational, fully accredited, residential college. The College offers career-informed associate degrees in allied health, business and social science, as well as certificates and a variety of continuing studies programs. Founded in 1915, it was the first college in Pennsylvania chartered to offer the associate degree.
Today Harcum has career-informed degree programs on its accessible Bryn Mawr Campus, located just west of Philadelphia with over 1000 total students. Online programs and Partnership Site classes throughout the region provide added opportunity.
Harcum provides quality instruction from faculty, close student-faculty collaboration, small class sizes, and individualized support services.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with applicants in person to gather information necessary for completion of Financial Aid packaging.
- Provide an overview of Financial Aid programs available to qualifying students.
- Determine financial aid eligibility and develop financing plans and review them with students.
- Provide student follow-up; resolve issues with students and parents to ensure a timely process of the loans.
Harcum College
Associates Level degree and minimum of 2 plus years of experience in a financial aid office or closely related. Prior experience with needs analysis, verification, packaging and the PA State Grant program. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Detail oriented. Must possess excellent customer service skills and able to work with a non-traditional and diverse student population. Some evening and local travel may be required.
