Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct support to the Financial Aid Counselors, administering State Grant Programs and working with outside agencies and special programs. Will oversee the State Grant Program, process work study documents, conduct supervisor training for new Work Study Managers, run reports, update Financial Aid Forms and send communications. This position will serve as a liaison to special programs by sharing authorized information to outside parties and coordinating programs with other offices. This position will also complete need analysis and financial aid application review for a subset of the student population. The Lehigh community takes seriously our commitment to antiracism and The Principles of our Equitable Community.

1. Administer state grant programs
*Review academic progress to confirm eligibility for state grant awards
*Schedule state grants to student’s accounts
*Reconcile state grants at the end of each academic year
*Communication with state grant agencies

2. Management and support
*Process work study authorizations
*Manage work study supervisor trainings
*Manage work study emails
*Run reports for Counseling Department staff
*Review and reconcile endowed fund balances and deficits
*Prepare petitions for Committee on Undergraduate Financial Aid
*Update financial aid forms each academic year
*Provide support to send communications through Banner Communication Management
*Complete need analysis and financial aid application review for a subset of the student population
*Possess a thorough understanding of federal and state regulations to ensure proper processing of financial aid

3. Serve as liaison for special programs
*Provide financial aid award information to authorized parties
*Will be a Veterans Affairs Certifying Official to certify Veterans benefits
*Complete certification for outside scholarship awards
*Manage the National Merit Scholarship Corporation rosters and reports
*Manage employee dependent eligibility program
*Coordinate outreach programs
*Manage outside scholarship posting and opportunities

Qualification:

Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred One to three years related work experience Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service required Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships Excellent organizational skills, time management and sound judgment Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and a high degree of initiative for bringing tasks to completion Solid writing ability and attention to detail Solid analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position All Lehigh faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated and receive a booster shot six months after their second vaccine; unless they receive an approved medical or religious exemption from the requirement.
