Financial Aid Officer
This role provides information on a timely basis to students and families about all aid programs and procedures. Processes and verifies application information and prepares student files for packaging with attention to accuracy. Works collaboratively with others in the Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Admissions departments to support AHN’s Core Behaviors.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates financial aid for all enrolled students, verification, packaging, and loan counseling.
- Advises students and families regarding financial aid questions and concerns, application questions, document processing and corrections. Meets and counsels’ students/families on issues relative to financial aid sources, outside scholarships, and alternative financing options.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all federal, state, and institutional sources of student financial aid. Stays current and compliant on all federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, policies and procedures governing the financial aid process.
- Collaborates with colleagues across both AHN Schools of Nursing to help to improve services and information to students. Works with the Admissions Offices to ensure the proper transmission of information.
- Assists with phone calls and walk-ins as needed to ensure excellent customer service. Participates in financial aid presentations and open houses as needed.
AHN Schools of Nursing
Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Aid Office. Associates degree in Education, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline OR relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of an Associate's Degree. Preferred 1 year of Prior experience with Campus Café, COD, NSLDS, and EdConnect. Bachelor's degree in Education, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
